Seeing the old coverage from @linusgsebastian about the 8Khz mouse and the more recent latency testing from @OptimumTechYT is definitely cool... But a weird thing, with windows at least, is that in some setups high polling rates cause frame drops in games.

On my current build, a 5600x with a 2070 super, 1000hz on my g503 wireless causes large stutters and frame drops in games that make them unplayable, at 500hz there are much smaller ones but it's playable and at 250hz they are eliminated completely.

Using the wireless dongle for my mouse reduces the Sutter's slightly compared to using wired which baffles me and I've tested with the mouse/keeb USB 2.0 ports, my 3.1gen1 ports and my 3.1gen2 ports and they all exhibit the same issues.

I'm not the only one with these issues, I only found out it was the polling rate thanks to Reddit posts of others having the same issue. I'd love to try out high polling rate mice some day but if that feature causes my games to be unplayable then it's obvious not gonna be fun.

Sorry for thing long thread but I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and any theories or experience with the same issue if you have any. (I've experienced this intermittently on both windows 10, 11 and 11 insiders. Between separate installs. No idea about why it happens)
