@DeadLout @RundownRabbit Probably because png and jpeg are from 1996 and 1992 respectivley. Much faster processors and more advanced tech letting .jxl outperform them. .jxl nearly encodes as fast a jpeg and decodes about the same speed with an option to improve decode speed for a slight loss in quality.On twitter.com
